IDA announces two courses on sustainability for International Water Summit

TOPSFIELD, Mass. — The two IDA Desalination Academy courses will focus on hybrid technologies and sustainable operations.

TOPSFIELD, Mass. — The International Desalination Association (IDA) has announced that it will host two sustainability-focused courses at the International Water Summit (IWS) on Jan. 20-22 in Abu Dhabi, according to a press release on Eco-Business.com.

The two IDA Desalination Academy courses titled "Integration of Hybrid Technologies with Renewable Energy to Improve the Sustainability of Water Desalination" and "Sustainable Operation with Advanced Membrane Filtration" will take place on Jan. 22 and 22, the release reported.

The courses will provide opportunities for managers, engineers and students to educate themselves on hybrid technologies, plant operations, renewable energy and sustainable operation of desalination plants, noted the release.

According to the release, the following members of the IDA Desalination Academy will present the courses: Mr. Leon Awerbuch, chief technology officer of Leading Edge Technologies Ltd. and interim dean of the IDA Desalination Academy; Dr. Corrado Sommariva, past president of IDA and managing director of ILF Consulting Engineers Middle East; and Dr. Graeme K. Pearce, principal of Membrane Consultancy Associates.
