SAN FRANCISCO — The program will connect U.S. water utilities to innovative entrepreneurs.

SAN FRANCISCO — Imagine H2O has announced a new partnership program with a number of U.S. water utilities, according to a press release.

The new program's first partners are Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD), Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA), San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) and East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD), the release reported.

According to the release, the Imagine H2O Utility Partners Program will allow utilities to connect with entrepreneurs whose innovations could improve the water distribution process.

"Water utilities are looking for ways to operate more cost-effectively and help our customers use water more efficiently," said Richard Harris, EBMUD's manager of water conservation.  "Imagine H2O is connecting EBMUD to entrepreneurs who are developing technology solutions and customer engagement tools that might help us achieve those goals."

The program's first partners serve a total of 25 million ratepayers throughout the U.S., noted the release.
