High profile speakers to headline WEFTEC 2014

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Kicking off WEFTEC 2014 is the Opening General Session on Monday, Sept. 29, and the keynote address will be delivered by transformative innovation expert Luke Williams.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — An impressive line-up of high profile national and international speakers have been confirmed to headline some of the most highly anticipated events of The Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) 87th Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC 2014), held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center, Sept. 27-Oct. 1, according to a press release.

On Saturday, Sept. 27, the event, “Recharge, Restore, Revitalize Hollygrove: Conrad Park Green Infrastructure Improvements,” is a community service project where 100 conference volunteers will install a series of rain gardens designed to remove pollutants and mitigate stormwater runoff from flood-prone Conrad Park, stated the release.

The release reported that featured speakers for the event at Conrad Park include: New Orleans Councilmember Susan G. Guidry, Executive Director of the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans Cedric Grant, Deputy Executive Director of the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans Robert Miller, WEF President Sandra Ralston and WEF President-Elect Ed McCormick.

On Monday, Sept. 29, the Opening General Session kicks off the conference with a theme of “Embracing Change in a Disruptive Age” and the keynote address will be delivered by transformative innovation expert Luke Williams, noted the release.
