WASHINGTON — U.S. water sector organizations will join forces for Water Week 2015 in Washington, D.C., according to a press release.
The second annual event, scheduled to take place April 12-18, provides water professionals with the opportunity to advocate for national policies advancing safe and clean waters in support of a sustainable and healthy environment, stated the release.
Water Week 2015 is organized by the Water Environment Federation (WEF), the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA), the Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) and WateReuse, with support from regional, state and national water organizations, continued the release.
“The goal [of Water Week 2015] is to inform and inspire state and national policymakers about important water-related issues while communicating the value of water to environmental protection, economic development and job creation,” reported the release.
Water Week 2015 will bring hundreds of wastewater/water professionals to Washington, D.C., noted the release, to meet with federal regulators and members of Congress, showcase new technologies and innovations, celebrate water professionals’ progress in addressing U.S. water challenges and discuss important regulatory, legislative and legal water developments.
