Dec. 19, 2000—Zellweger Luwa announced today that it has sold its water analysis business to Danaher Corporation for CHF 70 million. The transaction has been approved by the anti-trust commissions.

The water analysis business employs about 210 people and has its main locations in Noisy-le-Grand (France), League City (U.S.) and Milwaukee (U.S.). Danaher will take over all employees. The water analysis business generates sales of approximately CHF 50 million.

The divestment of the water analysis business is in line with Zellweger Luwas new strategy to become a more focused group. In future it intends to concentrate its resources on expanding its core businesses Gas Detection (Zellweger Analytics) and General Purpose Air (Luwa).

Together with the already announced sale of filter technology Zellweger Luwa has now almost finished its refocusing program.
