CharTech Solutions, an operating group of CHAR Technologies, was recently awarded a contract to provide ongoing engineering expertise and operational and maintenance services for a closed-loop water system at Algoma Orchards, a leading apple processor in Canada. Recently commissioned, this breakthrough ‘cleantech-as-a-service’ contract represents the first of many long-term engineering, operation & maintenance agreements for CharTech Solutions.
The closed-loop system will continuously convert wastewater into clean, potable water for reuse on-site.
This new service also eliminates the trucking and disposal of water by maximizing efficiencies, increasing capacity, and reducing GHG emissions resulting in approximately $200,000 of yearly savings. CharTech Solutions initially worked with Algoma to install a wastewater treatment system 10 years ago, and recently updated the closed-loop, turnkey technology package.
