RICHMOND, Va. — Infilco Degremond Inc. has been selected to supply 17 Climber® Screen mechanical bar screens to the US Army Corps of Engineers' Permanent Canal Closures and Pumps (PCCP) facilities being built by PCCP Constructors in New Orleans, Louisiana, according to a press release.

The 17 screens will handle an aggregate flow of 15.7 billion gallons per day and represent one of the largest screening projects undertaken by Infilco to date, according to the release.

"Infilco is extremely proud to be a part of this latest hurricane flood damage risk reduction project that will provide vital protection to the City [of New Orleans]," said Infilco CEO Maximilien Pellegrini.

The PCCP facilities will replace the interim closure pumps and structures installed after Hurricane Katrina, continued the release, and are expected to provide permanent risk reduction from heavy rainfall and storm surges.

The pumping stations will cost approximately $615 million and should be completed by 2017, according to the release.
