Israel selects Shaoguan as pilot city

SHAOGUAN, Guangdong, China — Israel's Economy Minister Naftali Bennett signed the “Water City” project agreement on a recent visit to China.

SHAOGUAN, Guangdong, China — Shaoguan, a city in China’s Guangdong province, has been selected as the pilot city for Israel’s “Water City” project, according to a press release.

The project aims to help China tackle acute water problems, showcasing Israel’s available technologies, stated the release.

The release reported that Israel Economy Minister Naftali Bennett signed the agreement on a recent visit to China.

Israeli companies will set up wastewater treatment, desalination and irrigation solutions, as well as other wastewater- and water-related solutions, under the Water City project, funded by China, noted the release.
