Los Angeles students take pledge to conserve water

LOS ANGELES — To celebrate Protect Your Groundwater Day, 170 second-grade students will pledge to conserve and protect south Los Angeles County’s groundwater supplies.
The second-grade students will take an “acknowledge, consider and take action (ACT)” pledge during an educational assembly and celebration, vowing to help protect and conserve south Los Angeles County’s groundwater supplies, stated the release.
The release reported that due to California’s continuous drought, it is more important than ever to protect groundwater through conservation and educate children and young adults.
The event takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Hooper Avenue Elementary School from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., located at 1225 E. 52nd St., in Los Angeles, noted the release.
