Mest elected as association president by WQA

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Mest is well known in the industry as an educator, a writer and leader.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Water Quality Association (WQA) has elected Pottstown, Pa. resident Richard Mest, of Master Water Conditioning Corp., as association president, according to a press release.

The election took place at WQA Aquatech USA 2013 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Mest is a longtime leader in the industry, most recently earning the WQA Key Award in 2011, honoring his qualities of leadership in his company, industry and various associations, and local civic and community activities, stated the release.

“Our industry is facing great challenges and opportunities,” Mest said. “Fortunately we have a vibrant membership committed to positive solutions.”

Mest is well known in the industry as an educator, a writer and leader. Serving on many boards and committees, he helped develop the testing protocol for one of the industry’s key standards.

He has offered his experience and knowledge to create education materials and certification programs that keep the industry up to date and well respected, noted the release.

He has also performed seminars for water treatment-related trade associations, health departments, and children’s programs.
