HAYWARD, Calif. — Microvi Biotechnologies has announced that Dr. Hamid Rabie, a leading expert in the water and wastewater industry, will be joining their board of directors, according to a press release.

Dr. Rabie is currently the president of HMT Membrane Technologies, noted the release, a company based in Ontario, Canada focused on emerging filtration technologies.

“I am excited to join the Microvi team at such a pivotal time to help expand Microvi’s global reach. Microvi’s MicroNiche Engineering has the potential to revolutionize the water and wastewater industry,” said Dr. Hamid Rabie.

Previous to his current role, reported the release, Rabie was COO of Koch Membrane Systems (KMS) where he was responsible for all aspects of KMS’ worldwide operations, manufacturing, technology, development and commercialization and also held senior positions at Zenon Environmental as their vice president of manufacturing and later as senior vice president of technology and was part of the team that led to their successful sale to GE Water and Process Technologies in 2006.
