ZUMBROTA, Minn. — Minnesota-based company WaterFilters.NET will be sending 200-300 free refrigerator water filters from its FridgeFilters.com website and online store to customers impacted by the chemical spill in West Virginia this month, according to an article by KSTP-TV5.

The chemical spill from Freedom Industries on the Elk River on Jan. 9 ultimately affected 300,000 people, the article noted.

While a majority of the affected Charleston-area residents have now been told their water is safe to drink, the Centers for Disease Control have recommended that residents flush their water lines to ensure there is no residual contamination, the article reported.
