Mobile water treatment plant brings fresh water to typhoon survivors

MANILA, Philippines — The plant has already produced 38,400 liters of potable water for survivors of Typhoon Yolanda.

MANILA, Philippines — The water distributor for the east part of Manila has set up a mobile water treatment plant in Bantayan Island, Cebu to aid survivors of Typhoon Yolanda, according to an article by InterAksyon.

The mobile plant, which was installed by Cebu Manila Water Development, a subsidiary of Manila Water Co. Inc., has already provided more than 38,400 liters of potable water to the area, the article reported.

According to the article, the plant is capable of producing 2,200 liters of water per hour by treating sea water.

Manila Water is also running a donation drive for clothing, food and other necessities in support of efforts by the Ayala Foundation and the Philippine Red Cross, the article noted.
