More than 25,000 people told to boil water due to E. coli

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Authorities say this is the first time in more than 25 years there's been this kind of contamination.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — More than 25,000 customers of the Kent County Water supply have been told to boil water due to E. coli contamination, CBSNews reported.

The Sept. 23 story said the boil-water order was issued yesterday and will last until Thursday.

The bacteria was found in a storage tank.

The Kent County Water Authority said this is the first time in 25 years this kind of contamination has occured in the drinking water supply.
