EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Reverse osmosis (RO) membrane manufacturer NanoH2O Inc. has announced plans to build a manufacturing facility in Liyang, China, according to a press release.

The 10,000 square meter, $45 million facility will be the company's second fully-integrated manufacturing plant after their facility in Los Angeles, the release reported.

According to the release, the facility will be operational by year-end 2014 and will take advantage of the growing domestic market for desalination and wastewater treatment in China.

"Just two years after our commercial entry into the RO membrane and desalination markets, the opening of this second facility marks a major expansion for our company that will allow us to support a rapidly growing international market," said Jeff Green, CEO and chairman of NanoH2O. "The Liyang plant is the first RO membrane manufacturing facility in China to utilize advanced nanotechnology."
