NanoH2O to provide membranes for Saudi Arabian desalination plants

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — The two desalination plant projects are scheduled for 2014.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Reverse osmosis (RO) membrane manufacturer NanoH2O Inc. has been awarded two projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to a press release.

The first project is for phase II of the Jubail desalination plant, where QuantumFlux membranes will produce 13,000 cubic meters of water per day, the release reported.

The second is a desalination plant being designed by AES Arabia at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Research Park, which will produce 15,000 cubic meters of water per day, the release noted.

"These are two important projects for our company's growth in this critical region," said Nicholas Dyner, VP of global sales and marketing for NanoH2O Inc. "The contacts are a testament to the growing global market acceptance of our innovative membrane technology and the benefits of QuantumFlux membranes."

According to the release, both projects are scheduled for 2014.
