WESTERVILLE, Ohio — A new hotline, a monthly tip sheet and other online tools will help educate well owners.

WESTERVILLE, Ohio — The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) is urging residential water well owners to utilize tools from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) including a new hotline and a monthly tip sheet, according to a press release.

The cooperative agreement between the NGWA and the EPA is meant to educate private well owners about ways they can protect their drinking water, according to the release.

The number for the new hotline, which opened on September 24, is 855-H20-WELL (855-420-9355), the release reported.

A monthly email tip sheet, a series of Webinars and online training modules for www.WellOwner.org will all be developed over the next 11 months, according to the release.

"Our shared goal is to help well owners know and take steps that will help reduce risks to their water supplies so that they have adequate, safe drinking water," said Cliff Treyens, NGWA public awareness director.
