NSF and Sustainable Waste Solutions to provide landfill-free verification

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Companies must demonstrate that less than one percent of its process waste goes to landfills to qualify.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — NSF Sustainability, a division of NSF International, has partnered with Sustainable Waste Solutions to provide companies with effective waste management solutions without utilizing landfills for their waste disposal, according to a press release.

NSF International and Sustainable Waste Solutions will provide landfill-free verification and assess companies to document that all wastes generated are reused, recycled or processed as waste to energy, the release reported.

Sustainable Waste Solutions provides reuse, recycling and waste services to customers in food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, high tech, automotive, defense, packaging and other industries, the release noted.

According to the release, a company can be designated as landfill-free if it demonstrates that less than one percent of its process waste goes to landfills and that documented waste management procedures are in place, along with other specific parameters.
