NSF issues first WaterMark Certification for plastic piping

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The certification was awarded to Simon Co. for its polyethylene fittings.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — NSF International has certified Simon Co.'s HIM Safe polyethylene pipe and fittings to the Australian WaterMark Certification Scheme for plumbing, water treatment and distribution products, according to a press release.

The products are the first polyethylene pipe and fitting products to earn WaterMark certification from NSF International; Simon Co. can use the WaterMark logo on products in the Australian, Malaysian and New Zealand markets, the release reported.

According to the release, WaterMark certification is required for products to be legally installed in the water supply system in Australia, Malaysia and New Zealand.

“As the first polyethylene pipe and fittings manufacturer to earn WaterMark certification from NSF International, Simon Co. demonstrates its leadership in product quality and gains access to new opportunities in global markets,” said Clif McLellan, vice president of NSF International’s Global Water Programs. “With nearly 70 years of experience testing and certifying water products, NSF International has the scientific expertise and capacity to provide test, audit and product certification services for companies seeking WaterMark certification.”
