Open public comment period begins for four AWWA Standards

DENVER — An electronic public review copy of each standard can be purchased on the AWWA website.

DENVER — The American Water Works Association (AWWA) has opened a 30-day public comment period, beginning today, Feb. 28, on four AWWA Standards, according to a press release.

AWWA solicits public comments on all proposed new AWWA Standards, and on all proposed revisions, reaffirmations, or withdrawals of existing AWWA Standards, noted the release.

The four standards up for public comment include: ANSI/AWWA C800-14, Standard for Underground Service Line Valves and Fittings; ANSI/AWWA C516-14, Standard for Large Diameter Rubber-Seated Butterfly Valves Sizes 78 In. (2,000 mm) and Larger; ANSI/AWWA C150/A21.50-14, Standard for Thickness Design of Ductile-Iron Pipe; and ANSI/AWWA B404-14, Standard for Liquid Sodium Silicate, reported the release.

An electronic public review copy of each standard can be purchased for review during the comment period for $20 each, continued the release, and comments must be submitted in writing to the AWWA contacts listed below no later than the last day of the comment period.

According to the release, comments for ANSI/AWWA C800-14 and ANSI/AWWA C150/A21.50-14 should be sent to Liz Ralph; for ANSI/AWWA C516-14 to Tim McCandless; and for ANSI/AWWA B404-14 to Steve Posavec.
