Parsons Brinckerhoff names deputy business manager

PORTLAND, Ore. — In his new position, Mel Sears will work with managers to expand business development opportunities, boost relationships with important clients and strengthen marketing and pursuit efforts.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Parsons Brinckerhoff has named Mel Sears as deputy business manager for the firm’s U.S. West region, according to a press release.

In his new position, Sears will work with managers throughout Parsons Brinckerhoff’s Western offices to expand business development opportunities, boost relationships with important clients and strengthen marketing and pursuit efforts, stated the release.

Sears joined the firm in 2010 as vice president and most recently served as area manager for Parsons Brinckerhoff’s Portland office, continued the release.

He has around 20 years of project management and business experience in both private and public sectors, managing an array of light rail, water, highway and wastewater projects, reported the release.

Sears serves on the Oregon Business Association’s board of directors, was the former president of American Council of Engineering Companies of Oregon and serves on the organization’s legislative committee, and he also served as the president of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Oregon Section, noted the release.
