Partnership for Safe Water presents City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department with award

RALEIGH, N.C. — The City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department receives the “Directors Award of Recognition.”

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Partnership for Safe Water, a program developed by AWWA, EPA and associated partner organizations, awarded the City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department with the “Directors Award of Recognition,” for successfully completing the Self-Assessment and Peer Review phase of the Partnership program, according to a press release.

The program was developed to steer water suppliers towards improving water quality by optimizing system relations, stated the release.

 The Self-Assessment and Peer Review phase of the Partnership program includes comprehensive evaluation of treatment plant operations and performance, the development of action plans to achieve optimization and the identification of performance limiting factors, continued the release.

“We are honored to receive this award,” said City of Raleigh Public Utilities Director John Carman. “Our utility’s goal is to continually strive to optimize operations and improve the quality of water we deliver to our customers. Achievement of the Directors Award demonstrates our ongoing commitment to protecting public health.”
