ALLENTOWN, Pa. — PPL Montana announced it has sold its hydroelectric facilities to NorthWestern Energy, according to a press release.

The sale, with PPL Corporation’s net proceeds at approximately $890 million, included 11 hydroelectric power plants with a total generating capacity of over 630 megawatts and the Hebgen Lake reservoir, stated the release.

The release reported that the sale included: The Thompson Falls Dam on the Clark Fork River, Mystic Lake Dam on West Rosebud Creek, Kerr Dam on the Flathead River and Madison Dam on the Madison River.

The Black Eagle, Hauser, Cochrane, Ryan, Holter, Morony and Rainbow dams were also included in PPL Montana’s sale to NorthWestern Energy, noted the release.
