Controls, variable frequency drives

Hoffman & Lamson's Next Generation Controls and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) optimize the efficiency of new or existing Hoffman & Lamson blower installations. These control solutions are engineered with the newest technologies, yielding cost-effective, flexible and robust systems that save users money. Next Generation Controls and VFDs offer an annual 20% savings in energy usage when compared to inlet throttling. Other benefits include SCADA-ready panels, meter-less flow control, automated monitoring, and pre-engineered design packages that greatly reduce electrical installation costs.

Meter reading app

Analyzing captured metering data is time-consuming, introducing risk and cost into operations. Simplify data collection and yield actionable information with Neptune Technology Group's NGO app, available for Android devices in the Google Play Store. NGO analyzes meter reading data in the field, improving efficiency and customer service while identifying leaks and other sources of loss so users can reduce non-revenue water. See up to 96 days of hourly consumption interval data and accurately resolve customers' questions and issues.

Solids density meter

Markland's solids density meter helps plants measure and monitor the density of process slurries, as well as primary, secondary, return-activated, and backwash sludge in pipes, tanks, re-circulation loops, and clarifiers. It helps operators determine dry/liquid additive dosages for preferred concentrations and flocculant dosages for improved filter press/centrifuge/digester performance. It allows users to program underflow pumps to automatically shut off before biosolids become too thin. The non-intrusive sensor uses safe ultrasound (no permits/approvals needed).

SCADA system

The M800 system from Mission Communications provides real-time, advanced monitoring and managed SCADA for water and wastewater systems. Alarm notifications are delivered by any combination of voice phone calls, text messages, emails, faxes, and pagers. Access, analyze and download data through secure web portals, accessible on any computer, tablet or mobile device. Streaming data allows users to identify trends as levels change and pumps turn on and off.

Screening handling

The Hydro-Flo Screen from Hydro-Dyne is an efficient mechanical screen to filter water and wastewater through square mesh or slotted openings 0.5 mm to 25 mm in diameter. Very low headlosses and all stainless steel and UHMWPE grids make these center-entrance, side-discharge screens suitable for a number of applications, including protection of membranes. Several models are designed to handle low to high flows and can be incorporated into the company's Septage Receiving Station.

Free-chlorine analyzer

GF Piping Systems' Signet 4630 Free-Chlorine Analyzer System is designed with amperometric sensing technology and incorporates a clear flow cell, flow regulator, sensors, filter, and rotameter. The system provides a turnkey solution for accurately measuring free chlorine. Typical uses include primary/secondary disinfection, water distribution, dechlorination, algae growth prevention, slime (biofilm) control, and taste and odor control. Its amperometric sensor enables more accurate measurement in real time and eliminates the need for reagents.

Vortex-shedding flowmeters

Universal Flow Monitors' P420 plastic-construction, vortex-shedding PVC or CPVC flowmeters are cost-effective for use in process water, membrane permeate, and brine and corrosive fluids in water treatment, as well as desalination and chemical treatment applications. The P420 Series meets requirements for an inexpensive flow-rate transmitter without moving parts that can stick, bind or coat when measuring flow in process water or corrosive fluids.

Water Level Dataloggers

Integrating water level data into a monitoring network is easy. Simply connect a Levelogger using the company's SDI-12 Interface Cable to the datalogging device. Connect a Solinst Direct Read Cable, in lengths up to 1,500 ft., to the SDI-12 Interface Cable. This effectively extends the distance from the Levelogger to the SDI-12 datalogger up to 1,700 ft., saving budget and adding flexibility to any application.
