FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, Oct. 17, 2005 -- The Parkson Manure Sand Saver has been chosen a 2006 World Ag Expo Top Ten New Product. A selection committee comprised of farmers and agribusiness professionals reviewed 136 nominations for the New Product award. As a Top Ten finalist, the Manure Sand Saver will be featured in the New Product Center at the 2006 World Ag Expo in Tulare, Calif., February 14-16.

Parkson's Manure Sand Saver removes and washes bedding sand from sand-ladened dairy manure. The clean, dry, odorless, recovered sand is ready to be reused as replacement sand in stalls. Recycling bedding sand can mean a significant reduction in sand replacement costs. Typically, the savings in sand can justify the purchase of a Manure Sand Saver unit within one year. Other savings from downstream equipment wear and the maintenance of sand-clogged lagoons can further shorten that payback period.

Sand Saver units are completely enclosed and constructed of stainless steel. The sand washing process can use a reclaimed water source including screened lagoon water. Because the unit runs on demand, energy costs are low. Sand Saver units are easy to maintain and require little operator attention.

Manure Sand Saver units can meet the needs of various size barns. Parkson applications engineers are available for site evaluations and can make recommendations for a complete bedding sand recycle system. This evaluation includes pit sizing, screening and pumps for current herd requirements and/or future expansion.

Manure management should not stand in the way of increasing herd size. For 30 years, Parkson technology has been advancing water and wastewater treatment. Now Parkson is advancing manure management with systems that will separate and dewater solids; reduce phosphorus, nitrogen, and BOD; and minimize odor.

Parkson Corp. (www.parkson.com), an Axel Johnson, Inc. Company, headquartered in Florida, with offices in Illinois, Michigan, Canada, and Brazil is a leading provider of advanced process and mechanical technology for applications in municipal water and wastewater, as well as industrial process water and wastewater.
