Lake Bluff, Ill. In March 2001, Parkson Corporation of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., purchased Waterlink Separations, Inc. located in Lake Bluff, Ill. Waterlink Separations was best known for the Hycor® brand of screening and residuals management products.
As of March 2002, Parkson's corporate marketing department has been relocated to the Lake Bluff offices and will handle all the marketing activities for Florida and Illinois. Parkson Corporation provides technology for water and wastewater treatment to the municipal and industrial markets. Parkson's capabilities include separation and biological processes from aeration to stormwater. Its brands include Hycor® screens, American Bulk Conveyors, the DynaSand® filter, Lamella® gravity settler, and the new Parkson family of filter presses, oil/water separators, and potable/process water equipment.
Among the company's line of screening equipment is the Monoscreen(tm) Escalating Channel Screen with a capture rate of 30 to 50 percent greater than a traditional stepping screen design.
The increase in capture rate is a direct result of the screen's high tech design. The blades in the lower part of the screen move in an elliptical motion, while the upper blades move in a circular motion. The lower elliptical motion moves the solids pre-coat incrementally up the screen at a slower more even rate. This means the solids loading on the screen is more evenly distributed, minimizing upstream and downstream water level surges. The pre-coat enables the screen to capture solids smaller than the screen opening. The screen is available in-tank for pumped flows.
Parkson Corporation with offices in Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Mexico and Brazil, provides systems and components for applications in municipal water and wastewater as well as for industrial process water and wastewater applications.
