WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — The county will use the new plant to replace its current five interconnected water production sites.

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Polk County’s Regional Utility Service Area (CRUSA) is using Reiss Engineering for the design, permitting and construction its new four million gallon per day water production facility, according to a press release.

The 19-square-mile CRUSA serves about 15,500 residents, stated the release, and is one of the fastest growing counties in Florida.

The county will use the new plant to replace five interconnected water production facilities, centralizing the system, noted the release. Four raw water supply wells will serve as a raw water source for customers during buildout.

Reiss will manage the design, bidding and construction of two water supply wells, reported the release. It will determine the optimum water treatment for the facility using water quality data.

"Ensuring that clean, safe water is available to public is our company’s mission, and we are proud to be a part of Polk County’s commitment to provide high quality water its customers straight from the tap." said Kathleen Gierok, P.E., client services manager for Reiss, in the release.

Design is expected to begin in the spring of 2016, shared the release.
