Report foresees growth in India’s water treatment market

Dec. 2, 2013

DUBLIN — Water treatment market growth corresponds to increased water demand in the country.

DUBLIN — International market research firm Research and Markets has announced the addition of a new report to their offering, entitled "Commercial and Residential Point-of-Entry Water Treatment Systems Market in India," according to an article on Business Wire.

India's overall water demand will double by 2050, while per capita water availability has dropped drastically between 1950 and 2000 and has been steadily decreasing, the article reported.

According to the article, the impending water crisis in India is intensified by the extraction of groundwater faster than the rate of replenishment.

The report found that the usage of POE water treatment systems for commercial and residential purposes is growing at a fast pace, RO systems are preferred in hospitals and hotels while conventional systems are preferred in the residential space and that high investment in commercial and residential segments will drive the demand for water treatment systems in India, the article noted.
