Saudi Arabian government announces investment in water infrastructure

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia — The announcement was made during the Saudi Water and Power Forum 2013.

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia — During the inauguration of the Saudi Water and Power Forum 2013, Saudi Minister of Water and Electricity Abdullah Al-Hussayen announced that the government will spend SAR 110 billion on new water and power infrastructure projects, according to an article by Albawaba.

A think tank to deliberate on key issues will be created at the forum, the article reported.

Key issues include optimum use of renewable energy resources and use of effective desalination technologies, noted the article.

According to the article, the forum will include a seminar by the German Desalination Industry Association (DME) entitled "Key Solutions for Key Desalination Markets."
