DENVER — The American Water Works Association (AWWA) announced that a six-part PBS series titled, “How We Got to Now with Steven Johnson,” will begin airing October 15 and will feature a segment exploring the history of clean drinking water, according to a press release.

The program will examine the history and people behind innovations that have been instrumental in creating a successful modern society, stated the release.

The release reported that producers worked with Journal AWWA Editor-in-Chief Michael McGuire in developing a drinking water segment titled "Clean.”

McGuire is author of the popular book “The Chlorine Revolution: Water Disinfection and the Fight to Save Lives,” which chronicles the journey of disinfecting water systems with chlorine, noted the release.
