Marcus will discuss her state’s perspectives on drought, water quality, water rights and financial assistance for communities that wish to upgrade infrastructure, stated the release. The board is responsible for implementing federal and state laws regarding drinking water and other water-related issues.
“Anyone involved with managing and operating the municipal water network won’t want to miss this presentation,” said Jane McDermott, Smart H2O Summit event director, in the release. “Ms. Marcus will share information that is critical to the success of their operations.”
Marcus held several positions in the government, nonprofit and private sectors before joining the board in 2013, reported the release. She has worked with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Los Angeles Department of Public Works, Natural Resources Defense Council and the Trust for Public Land.
The keynote presentation will be given at noon on Aug. 17 at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, noted the release. The full conference will take place Aug. 17-19.
