CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Sourcewater matches energy companies with impaired, produced and fresh water sources to help secure water supplies, maximize recycling and minimize costs.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Sourcewater issued a research report titled, “Stronger Water Practices for the Future,” which details the substantial immediate and long-term benefits available to the unconventional energy production industry by using a web-based marketplace for buying and selling water sources, according to a press release.

The marketplace, Sourcewater.com, matches energy companies with produced, impaired and fresh water sources to help maximize wastewater recycling, secure water supplies and minimize costs, stated the release.

The release reported that Sourcewater Founder and CEO Josh Adler shared highlights of the newly released report at the American Water Summit 2014, held in Houston, Texas.

For the report, Thicket, a social systems design lab, built a computational model to demonstrate how the online marketplace can help overcome water and energy production challenges, including economical, environmental and social impacts, noted the release.
