TEDxABQ releases video on managing public water systems

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — In this special presentation, Heather Himmelberger, director of the Southwest Environmental Finance Center at the University of New Mexico, highlights finding better, sustainable ways to pay for and manage public water systems.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The presentation of Heather Himmelberger, director of the Southwest Environmental Finance Center at the University of New Mexico, from TEDxABQ 2014, has been published on the TEDx Talks YouTube Channel with the title, “It’s time to put water first,” according to a press release.

In this special talk, Himmelberger highlights finding better, sustainable ways to pay for and manage public water systems and discusses water quality, quantity and infrastructure issues as “an opportunity to invest in a sustainable water future,” stated the release.

Himmelberger, a member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Environmental Finance Advisory Board, is a registered, professional engineer with more than 27 years of experience working with water and environmental sectors, reported the release.

Created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading,” TEDxABQ has held its local event for the past five years, and are designed to celebrate New Mexico’s organizations, communities and individuals, noted the release.
