Tests show traces of Cryptosporidium in city’s drinking water

BAKER CITY, Ore. — City officials in Baker City, Ore. said the presence of Cryptosporidium was confirmed to be found in its water supply, according to KTVB News.

A recorded message sent out by the Baker City Public Works Department stated, “The city of Baker City Public Works Department has received test results confirming the presence of Cryptosporidium in the municipal drinking water system. The city is currently operating under a drinking water warning; residents should use bottled water or water that has been boiled for one minute.”

These procedures are to be followed by residents until further notice.
