MILWAUKEE — The Water Council and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) announced the launch of Round III of The BREW, “a first-of-its-kind, place-based seed accelerator for water technology startups,” according to a press release.

Created by The Water Council and the WEDC, The BREW debuted in 2013 and is managed by The Water Council, stated the release.

The release reported in exchange for a small percent of equity, startups with commercialization potential will receive up to $50,000 in investments, and The BREW’s past winners include businesses focused on water quality and quantity, from software and hydropower to sensors and laboratories.

The application process for Round III will be open March 1 at 8 a.m. (CST) until March 31 at 11:59 p.m. (CST), continued the release.

On June 23, up to eight winners will be selected to participate in Round III, beginning in September, noted the release.
