While the popularity of our print publication maintains its status among our readers, the staff of Water Technology realizes that water treatment professionals as well as individuals who research and care about water treatment issues are more mobile and on-the-go today than even before in our history. Our publication realized this growing trend over 15 years ago and today we continue to expand our online efforts, adding to our industry-leading website WaterTechOnline.com and its e-products.

Below is a brief snapshot of what you might be missing on our newly redesigned website, which now serves up content based on an individual’s specific needs. As part of our promotion and celebration of the newly redesigned site, we gave away a free iPad to one lucky registrant and announced the winner this month. Thank you to all the registrants and congratulations to the winner.

In addition to a comprehensive online Buyers Guide and active Bulletin Board, where real water experts troubleshoot common water treatment challenges and network with like-minded peers, our editors now have the capability to grow awareness of water issues and deliver captivating content in a modern, multimedia fashion.

WaterTech e-News Daily™

While this news resource has been available for over a decade, we continue to shift with the times and readers’ interest to formulate a dynamic package of daily news, events and online exclusive content. Additionally, over the past few months after researching trends and maximizing online tools, we have implemented strategies to keep readers engaged with related content, videos, important stories of the week and much more.

This daily news resource continues to be among the most popular products our publication offers and we will continue to improve it to better meet your informational needs.

If you have ideas or comments to help improve our industry-exclusive WaterTech e-News Daily, please let us know today. Contact our Assistant Editor Jake Mastroianni at [email protected].

Online Exclusive e-Newsletters

Each month our editors as well as industry leading manufacturers and suppliers focus in on one hot button topic that impacts the industry. For example, in October we zeroed in on the important topic of water testing. Taking a challenge-solution approach to each topic, we include original content as well as related news in this newsletter. If you are not receiving this newsletter, signing up is easy and available on our website.

Online only articles

In 2012, we have also increased our efforts to include original articles online that cannot be accessed in print. For instance, in early November we posted an article titled, “How to find success teaming with well-known brand names.” If you missed this article, please visit https://www.watertechonline.com/articles/165599-how-to-find-success-teaming-with-well-known-brand-names.

If you would like to contribute an unbiased online exclusive article, please contact Editorial Director Rich DiPaolo at [email protected].

Industry research and important surveys for our market’s future

The foundation and philosophy of validating the trends and important reader concerns to build our editorial content online and in print have not changed. We continue to take a three-pronged approach: Reader visits, online surveys and conversations with our Editorial Advisory Board members.

The importance of this strategy was again realized last month. In November, Water Technology and the industry’s leading trade association the Water Quality Association (WQA) entered into an exclusive partnership for two important online surveys, which garnered significant responses.

For the first survey, as WQA and our magazine continue to develop and focus on more involvement in sustainability standards and efforts, questions related to water reuse were included. In collaboration with Water Technology, the WQA Water Sciences Committee prepared the surveys to assess current industry involvement and interest.

We thank all of the people who completed these surveys and all of our surveys throughout the year. Your input remains a vital component to our editorial package.

As a way to show our appreciation, WQA offered a $50 VISA gift card and a free all-access pass (a $90 value) to the WQA Aquatech USA convention to one randomly selected winner.

And so much more

The above is just a brief description of how we are leading the way online and into the future. We encourage you to get involved by sending suggestions, commenting and rating articles and taking full advantage of our print and online offerings. Our goal is simply to make WaterTechOnline.com your preferred destination for online research content.

Also, be sure to participate and provide solutions on our site and its online reader feedback forums. Our industry is faced with several challenges and we all must stay involved and proactive to meet these situations.

In 2012 we improved our website and in 2013 we will expand even further.
