The Iron Zapper system from Safeway Water is an effective tool used to reduce and eliminate iron. The Iron Zapper works through an electronic control valve that is programmed to introduce air to the filter’s tank for increased oxidation. This process makes iron, hydrogen sulfide and manganese more filterable. During the backwash cycle these oxidized particles are removed.
