BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — After sustaining heavy rainfall for five days that caused the discharge of treated sewage into the Saginaw River, the overflows have been stopped from the Buena Vista wastewater treatment plant, according to The Grand Rapids Press.
Plant personnel said almost 5 million gallons of partially treated wastewater was released from the plant during the past five days.
Plant superintendent Tim Stalker noted that workers released the sewage into an outfall that flows into the Saginaw River on April 10.

Stalker added that the water had been settled out and chlorinated before it was released from the plant.
