CHESTERFIELD, Va. — The Environmental Protection Agency and the American Water Works Association’s Partnership for Safe Water program has awarded The Chesterfield County Department of Utilities’ Addison-Evans Water Production and Laboratory Facility with the 2013 Fifteen-Year  Partnership for Safe Water Director’s Award, according to the Village News.

Participants in the program are striving to bring high quality drinking water that surpasses federal standards to its customers.

To achieve this goal treatment facilities must optimize and improve plant processes and operations and set performance levels well above normal, stated the article.

The plant in Chesterfield, Va. was recognized for its plant operations’ data, excellent water quality, and the reporting of treatment and process improvements in calendar year 2012.

Chesterfield County’s facility is the only one in Virginia, and one of only 12 water-treatment plants nationwide, to earn this distinction, noted the article.

“Please know how proud and grateful I am for all the staff at the Addison-Evans Water Production and Laboratory Facility for keeping the tradition of excellent drinking water through participation in the Partnership program for 15 years,” said Chesterfield County Utilities Department Director Roy E.
