BRYAN, Texas — A month ago a swarm of moth flies were spotted around the trickling filter at the wastewater treatment facility in Bryan, Texas, according to The Eagle.
These flies, which are also known as filter flies, drain flies or sewage flies, has led to the city shutting down part of the treatment system.
Now residents are complaining because the insects quickly spread into nearby neighborhoods, noted the release.
Crews have used chlorine and fogging sprays, but those attempts have failed to eliminate the pests, which forced city officials to turn off the filter.
Now that the flies habitat has been taken away they have moved into the city where they have been spotted coating walls inside some apartments, stated the release.
