ANN ARBOR, Mich. — A village outside of Ann Arbor, Mich. posted a notice on its website to warn residents about an increased odor that could occur due to renovations to Dexter’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, according to Michigan Live.
“Every effort is being made to control the odor, however there will be times over the next two months that it is strong. We appreciate your patience as we complete this major renovation to the plant,” the message said.
The village is spending $3.3 million to replace the lids of its wastewater treatment plant’s digesters, noted the article.
Project Manager Chris Nastally said the plant uses a smaller digester to mix and heat sludge and a larger one that is mainly used for storage.
