WERF invites applications for annual awards

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Applications for the 2014 Paul L. Busch Award and Award for Excellence in Innovation are due June 1.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Water Environment Research Foundation has issued an invitation for applications to the Paul L. Busch Award and the Award for Excellence in Innovation, according to a press release.

Applications for both awards are due June 1, reported the release.

Each year, the Water Environment Research Foundation recognizes individuals and organizations whose efforts have significantly contributed to water quality research and its practical application in the environment, the release noted.

Through research grants and promotion, continued the release, these awards seek to highlight the scientific breakthroughs that are advancing the water sector and to encourage the development of future innovations.

According to the release, the Paul L. Busch Award honors research that will lead to practical solutions for water quality problems and the WERF Award for Excellence in Innovation recognizes organizations that have implemented WERF research to achieve documented improvements to wastewater and stormwater collection, storage or treatment operations or facilities or processes.
