Water treatment chemicals market in India expected to see ample growth over next decade

July 16, 2014

NOIDA, National Capital Region, India — Higher demand will drive the water treatment chemical market’s growth.

NOIDA, National Capital Region, India — A growth of over 9 percent in the Indian Water & Wastewater treatment chemicals market revenues is projected to occur through 2019, with major producers and suppliers of water treatment chemicals including Nalco-Ecolab, Ion Exchange India Limited, Vasu Chemicals and Thermax India Limited, according to a report conducted by TechSci Research, a research based global management consulting firm.

The large percentage of sewage and industrial effluent remaining untreated as well as India’s Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPBC) concerns for mounting water pollution in ground water and major rivers, factor into the demand for a greater water treatment industry in India, continues the report.

“In India’s water treatment chemicals market, corrosion and scale inhibitors accounted for significant share in revenue terms due to the huge demand from power utilities and oil refineries,” explained Mr. Karan Chechi, Research Director with TechSci Research. “Moreover, the decreasing water availability and rising environmental concerns are expected to increase the municipal water treatment in India over the next five years.”
