WASHINGTON — NACWA and AMWA released the “Summary and Next Steps” white paper of the Water Resilience summit that they co-hosted on April 9-10, as part of Water Week 2014, according to a press release.
The Water Resilience Summit was a facilitated dialogue on climate and resilience issues that brought more than 50 wastewater utility, drinking water utility, federal officials and the private sector together, stated the release.
In the report, NACWA and AMWA have identified several collaborative actions, which will need further cooperation with and among key federal agencies to succeed, to advance water sector resilience, continued the report.
In the months following the summit, mentioned in the white paper are several positive actions on resilience, which could benefit municipalities, that the federal government has taken, noted the release.
