WEF and WERF seek innovative wastewater treatment technologies

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Proposals are due by 5 p.m. EST on Jan. 16, 2015.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Water Environment Federation (WEF) and the Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) are seeking innovative wastewater treatment technologies providing intensification or resource recovery, including the recovery of energy, water, nutrients and other products, according to a press release.

Submissions must be applicable to municipal and industrial wastewater treatment operations in developed countries such as the U.S., stated the release.

Those who propose a new product/technology must highlight the key aspects of their product/process for review by a panel of experts through a Leaders Innovation Forum for Technology (LIFT) Technology Scan, added the release.

The release reported that selected proposals will be featured at a forum, cosponsored by WEF and WERF, taking place at the Manhattan College in New York City Aug. 9-11, 2015.

The forum will include technology presentations as well as “matchmaking and development of collaborative future projects” among academics, utilities, consultants, vendors and more, continued the release.

Submissions are due by 5 p.m. EST on Jan. 16, 2015, noted the release.
