CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Entex Technologies Inc. received the Water Environment Foundation’s (WEF) 2014 Innovative Technology Award for its Webitat™ for Lagoons IFAS technology, according to a press release.
The Webitat system enhances the performance of lagoons, pond-like treatment systems, by providing fixed bacteria to improve treatment, even in cold weather, stated the release.
It also creates “high-rate mixing and bioaugmentation cells,” which increase retention of the influent wastewater and cycle it multiple times through each module, continued the release.
“Entex is honored to be recognized with this award from WEF for our Webitat technology,” said Entex President Wayne Flournoy. “We aim to create and install the most innovative and cost-effective solutions in the wastewater industry and are invigorated by this acknowledgement of our efforts. We thank WEF for this award and for the opportunity to showcase our technologies each year.”
