IDA introduces mentorship program

TOPSFIELD, Mass. — The International Desalination Association (IDA) Mentorship Program, aimed at helping the next generation of leaders, pairs a member of IDA’s Young Leaders Program (YLP) with an industry leader within IDA.

TOPSFIELD, Mass. — The International Desalination Association (IDA) announced the launch of a mentorship program aimed at helping the next generation of leaders advance their knowledge and careers, according to a press release.

The new IDA Mentorship Program pairs a member of IDA’s Young Leaders Program (YLP) with an industry leader within IDA, stated the release.

Each mentor will be assigned up to two young professionals and will contribute up to three hours a month sharing his/her knowledge, guidance and advice, continued the release.

The program, reported the release, offers the opportunity for young professionals to gather technical and business knowledge and experience, and the mentors have the opportunity to foster the next generation of leaders, further strengthening the water reuse and desalination industry.

“IDA is known around the world for the exceptional depth of knowledge and experience represented by its members and the willingness of these leaders in desalination and water reuse to share their perspective,” said IDA Secretary General Patricia A. Burke. “As the point of connection between people, knowledge and ideas in the global desalination and water reuse community, IDA views this program as a natural extension of the value that we offer.”

The young professionals and their mentors are asked to commit for a one-year period to the mentorship program, noted the release.
