Sensus enters China market with new meter manufacturing and assembly facility

RALEIGH, N.C. — The facility can produce 150,000 meters annually and will meet demands for China, Asia, Oceania, South America and Europe.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Sensus recently opened a new meter manufacturing and assembly facility in Fuzhou, a city in the Fujian Province of China, which aims to meet growing advanced meter demands internationally, according to a press release.

“We are extremely proud to have a new, state-of-the-art facility with the most efficient processes in China,” Sensus China General Manager Dr. Jianing Zha said in the release. “Along with our existing expertise and strong interest in the China market, this will open a new chapter for Sensus' growth plans in the Asia Pacific region.”

The Fuzhou facility, which began operations in February, has the ability to produce 150,000 meters annually, the release reported, and currently Sensus’ WPD, WSD, MeiTwin and 420PC meters are produced at the new facility.

On April 20, Bays and others attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Fuzhou facility, the release reported,which will meet the demand for meters not only in China, but also in Asia, Oceania, South America and Europe.
