California to celebrate first Tap Water Day

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — Tap Water Day will promote the installation of hydration stations (drinking fountains equipped to refill reusable bottles) across the state and highlight the condition and location of existing local fountains in communities throughout California.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — California will celebrate its first Tap Water Day on May 7, according to a press release.

Tap Water Day will promote the installation of hydration stations (drinking fountains equipped to refill reusable bottles) across the state and highlight the condition and location of existing local fountains in communities throughout California, stated the release.

WeTap, LADWP, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and the city of Los Angeles, Cal EPA, LA County Department of Public Heath, The State Water Board and water agencies across California are encouraging everyone to celebrate Tap Water Day, reported the release.

Sponsors, continued the release, include: WeTap.org, the city of Los Angeles, California State Water Resources Control Board, California-Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and Health Happens Here, The California Endowment.

The program will take place at Balboa Sports Center in Encino, California, noted the release.
