Biwater completes water projects throughout Ghana

ACCRA, Ghana — Biwater provides large-scale water and wastewater solutions for its clients worldwide.

ACCRA, Ghana — Biwater completed two projects spanning several distinct population centers across Ghana, according to a press release.

In Kpong, located in South Ghana, Biwater recently completed the construction of a reinforced, concrete direct filtration potable water treatment plant producing over 10.8 million gallons per day (41,000 m3/day) to serve Kpong and its surrounding areas, in addition to rural communities between Kpong and Tema, stated the release.

From Aframso to Kumawu in the Ashanti region of Ghana, reported the release, Biwater also completed a pipeline installation project involving the excavation, laying, welding, backfilling, testing and disinfection of more than 31 miles of steel and HDPE transmission pipeline.

“The completion of these water treatment and supply projects would not have been possible without our skilled team locally,” said David Thorpe, managing director of Biwater, West Africa. “They handled the laying of extensive steel and HDPE pipes in steep and rocky terrain, whilst also successfully managing complex logistics to deliver robust and long-lasting solutions.”
